FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What can I expect on Sunday mornings?
Sunday mornings are pretty "different". We meet in a school and work hard to transform it in to Woodlands Point every week. There are plenty of signs to help you find your way around the building. As well, we have a great "Welcome Team" ready and willing to greet you and help you in any way they can. Just look for someone wearing a "Welcome" name tag. The dress code is up to you. We're pretty casual but if a suit and tie is your preference then by all means feel free!
2. What do I do with my kids?
KidsPoint is our age-specific ministry for Infants-5th grade children. Classes are broken down by age and grade and are staffed by a minimum of two trained and qualified adult shepherds. All classroom shepherds have undergone an extensive criminal background check and application process. Your children will enjoy learning about God and each other in a safe, non-threatening environment which consists of large group children's worship and small group classroom lessons and activities. For more info visit woodlandspoint.org/kidspoint.
3. What denomination is Woodlands Point?
Woodlands Point Community Church is an independent, non-denominational, reformed, missional church. More important than any denominational affiliation is our desire to lift up the name and supremacy of Jesus Christ in this world. While we are an independent body governed internally by a board of Elders we are committed to being the church in community with other like-minded churches. We do this in two primary ways: 1) By actively rallying churches in our community around common causes for the purpose of demonstrating unity within the body and utilizing joint resources in a more effective and far-reaching way, and 2) We are members of the Acts 29 Church Planting Network (www.acts29network.org). The Acts 29 Network is a network of pastors and churches from around the nation with a desire to see the church mobilized for the Gospel and more churches planted for the expansion of the Kingdom of God.
4. Do you have anything going on during the week?
Most of Woodlands Point happens OUTSIDE of Sunday mornings. We are a church built upon the foundation of healthy, vibrant, dynamic and multiplying community groups. The mission of our small groups is to build a movement of smaller communities who Worship Christ, Live in Community, Get Equipped for Ministry and Live on Mission in this world...together, over time, with increasing depth and a focus on multiplying the movement through the reproduction of leaders and groups. It is within these groups that lives truly connected and the mission of God through our church is most powerfully lived out. 5. What's the best way to learn more about WPCC?
First, take some time to read through our Vision, Mission, Values and Beliefs statements on the website. As well, read through the bios on our staff page and listen to some previous sermons from Sunday mornings. If you plan to visit us expect to find plenty of information about who we are in our Welcome Area at our "Guests Information" table. Finally, we host quarterly "Discovery Lunches" for all first-time guests over the previous few months. These lunches are great opportunities for you to meet the staff and leadership and hear more about the vision and mission of Woodlands Point. Check the website and listen for announcements about the dates and times of the next Discovery Lunch.
