Story:
I was born in the great state of Texas and have lived just north of Houston my whole life. Growing up, I did not often attend church but plugged into a ministry called Young Life when I was a freshman in high school. It was through Young Life that I first heard the Gospel and saw the evidence of God's pursuit of me. I placed my trust in Jesus the summer before my Junior year at Oak Ridge High School.
It wasn't until late in high school that I really began to understand and walk in His character. After high school I began my studies at Blinn and then Texas A&M, but my focus was primarily on my pursuit of God. The most significant aspect of my college experience was my experience doing ministry with a great community of believers. I graduated from A&M in 2008 and married my beautiful, lovely, and grace-filled wife Rachael in January of 2009. I spent the last year of college commuting back and forth from College Station to the Woodlands as I began a ministry with the high school students at the John Cooper School. Those seeds that were planted in the lives of my high school friends led into my first job out of college working for Young Life for the past two and a half years.
While I enjoyed my time on staff with Young Life, I felt the Lord directing me toward His Bride the church. As a result of this direction, I am thrilled to now be on staff serving as the student minister as well as the church planting resident at Woodlands Point. I am so thankful for the opportunity to walk alongside the youth in our congregation and to point them towards Jesus. It is also my prayer that receiving Gospel centered training at Woodlands Point partnered with seminary classes will equip me to pastor a church plant in the future.
Vision for Woodlands Point:
"My hope for Woodlands Point is for the Gospel to take root in the hearts, and thus the lives, of the people who are Woodlands Point Community Church. I believe that through the lens of the Gospel we will begin to live missionally as an act of worship that brings glory to God. I desire to see our community radically changed for Christ and for God to be made famous in The Woodlands. I pray that as a church we stay grounded in The Word and committed to Truth as we learn to daily walk in the Spirit."
