Every Dad Is A Pastor
6.16.2011 // Amanda Holmstrom

With Father’s Day just around the corner, I found it appropriate to share this free online e-book called Pastor Dad: Scriptural insights on Fatherhood. The description of the book reads:

“Every dad is a pastor. The important thing is that he is caring for his flock well. This book by Pastor Mark Driscoll looks at the ways that a father can raise his children well.”

I would encourage fathers as well as mothers to dive into this short book, and examine the distinct roles Christ has called us to fulfill within our families. The Bible clearly states the man is the spiritual leader in the home. Mark Driscoll does a good job explaining what the Bible says about how dads are to lead and guide their wives and children well. In a society where we see more broken homes, more children on medication, more child therapists, more daycares, and more prisons bursting at the seams, it is time for us to examine how we raise our children and where our focus lies.  The ultimate goal needs to be that our children grow to love and worship God. This book distinctly uses scripture to teach and encourage fathers to be the one ultimately responsible for cultivating a godly household and raise spiritually sound children.  Please keep in mind as with just about any article/book there may be some points that we do not fully endorse, however the overall message of this book is worth sharing. Directly access the book by clicking the link below, and Happy Father’s Day to all you dads!
