PACN Counselor Training
1.11.2010 // Brandon Marler
The Pregnancy Assistance Center North (PACN) is a gospel-centered organization, fully-funded by donations, that educates, trains and counsels thousands of abortion-minded and post-abortion men and women in our community. Statistics for Montgomery County from Jan - Aug 2009 show that the average age of PACN’s client is, 25, with the majority (44%) between ages 19 - 24. WPCC’s demographic is perfectly targeted to identify with the majority of PACN’s clients and represent the gospel in a real and unique way. Every semester PACN offers a 21-hour training (many from Woodlands Point have attended) spread over six evenings, which teaches and equips you to be a volunteer counselor at PACN. The training includes education on: crisis pregnancy; sex education and abstinence training; STD counseling; pre-and-post abortion counseling and more. At the end of the training seminars you will then have the opportunity to move towards a “Peer Counseling” position, where you will counsel abortion-minded and post-abortion women or men in a one-on-one setting. The next 6-session “Volunteer Training Seminar” at PACN begins in February. Here’s the dates:
