VOLUNTEER

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF A GENERATION NEXT VOLUNTEER?
Our classroom Shepherds are the heart of GenerationNext. Currently our Shepherds serve one Sunday each month. Shepherds in our Infant/Crawler room and Walkers room are responsible for meeting the physical needs of the children in their rooms by feeding, diaper changing, interacting with, loving and praying over each child. Shepherds in our 2 Year Old - 5th Grade classrooms are responsible for teaching a prepared Bible lesson (provided by the Directors), leading interactive worship, activities and/or leading Large Group skits. Each of these elements are designed to enable children to discover truths about God, His word, His Son and His Love.

WHAT IS THE GENERATION NEXT COVENANT?
Each of our classroom Shepherds is asked to commit themselves to upholding the values and standards of conduct outlined in our GenerationNext Covenant. GenerationNext exists to lead children in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We believe that the best way to do that is in the context of a relationship with an adult who is passionate about Christ and models what the Bible teaches.

HOW ARE YOUR VOLUNTEERS SCREENED?
Every volunteer must complete a GenerationNext Volunteer Application, personally speak with a Director, and sign a consent form for a criminal background check to be run. We complete background checks on all volunteers who work with children. After a background check is conducted you will be asked to review and sign a Volunteer Covenant which outlines our standards of conduct and our ministry's values. You can fill out the online application here: GenerationNext Volunteer Application Form

DO YOU REQUIRE THAT PARENTS VOLUNTEER?
KidsPoint and WeePoint rely on Volunteer Shepherds each Sunday in order to proclaim the Gospel to children at Woodlands Point Community Church. We ask that every parent volunteer regularly, but it is not required. Currently, our classroom Shepherds serve once a month. The volunteer application can be filled out online here: GenerationNext Volunteer Application Form
